A proxy server is a program that sits between your computer and the internet and forwards requests for specific domains to different sites. This is usually set up to act as a gateway, giving your computer access to the internet. A proxy server usually sets up individual proxies for specific machines or services, such as video streaming, web email and other services offered over the internet.
The simple solution is to use software that comes with the router or in your operating system to automate the address and port forwarding for you.
